COLNE QUAY, COLCHESTER

RIBA Stages: 1-5

Colne Quay is an exciting development of student studio apartments and support facilities set on a former commercial plot adjoining the River Colne. GUARDA has been involved from the beginning – completing a LTVIA assessment and all landscape design elements. We are very much looking forward to seeing the project to completion with full WS5 support.

The site has excellent links to the town but has some interesting design challenges, not least the tidal nature of the river. The GUARDA team is working closely with the project Ecologist to deliver a bio-diverse but highly useable design scheme which includes reed bed planting, public realm, streetscape design and an extensive green roof to all three buildings.
