GUARDA was commissioned to very quickly turn around the sketch and concept design stages of this large scale public realm within St Helier. The main aim was to connect two existing public spaces together and refurbish the whole space to provide a 21st Century solution with high quality and robust natural materials. Key challenges included the need to introduce a large number of street trees in a location filled with services and poor ground conditions.

Success has been achieved through bringing the whole external works team together through GUARDA, including engineering, lighting design and irrigation services, to ensure close collaboration with trusted partners. A close working relationship with the client also assisted in obtaining timely decisions and utilising local knowledge.
